Turin, Italy
The City of Turin is officially among the 100 European cities committed to achieving climate neutrality by 2030. As a Mission City, Turin acts as a hub for experimentation and innovation in climate action, guided by the Climate City Contract — a dynamic tool that defines the steps, actions, and investment strategies needed to achieve this ambitious goal.
Within this framework, the city integrates core circular economy principles, with measures aimed at reducing waste production, increasing waste sorting, improving water treatment efficiency, and eliminating residual emissions from landfills. Turin is also involved as a partner in several Horizon projects dedicated to the circular economy. These include initiatives on the food supply chain and circular food systems, supported by a dedicated call for businesses (“Call Cibo Circolare”), as well as projects targeting textile waste, WEEE, and wood waste, where specific pilot activities and experimental actions have been carried out.
